What's the name of your business and how did you come up with it?
My business name is Yoyo Laos Sauce, I chose this because my name is Yoyo and I wanted people to know about Laos and Lao food so this is a simple name for my sauce!
What are your inspirations for being in the food industry?
I really wanted people to know about Laos and lao food. Laos is such a small country and people don’t know about it. So I hope with my sauce more people will be interested in Laos and lao food!
What were some of your challenges being a Lao business?
Its not a major challenge but many of my customers do not know where Laos is or anything about my country. This is OK because I enjoy talking to them about this so they are aware.
What advice would you give to someone based on your experience?
Learn about the rules and regulations of the country you are in, in my case the UK. Try not to do everything at once, take the time, step by step, make the improvements and changes to keep improving. It can be hard work at times but believe in your products and focus on your goals. Get in experts for tasks which need certain skills, such as logo design.
What's your favorite Lao dish?
Tum mak hoong (papaya salad)
