Black Gold Sauce ( Lao Padaek). Black Gold was a humorous name we gave the product due to its significant value as a mother sauce for our family traditional cuisine.

What are your inspirations for being in the food industry?

I have been making padaek for friends and family for many years, and I’m excited to be sharing this bit of our Lao food culture outside of our community.

What were some of your challenges being a Lao business?

Sourcing quality ingredients, product expansion outside of the Lao community, and the traditional challenges of being a woman minority owned business.

What advice would you give to someone based on your experience?

GRIT! Hard work and tenacity.
