What's the name of your business and how did you come up with it?
Ma Der Lao Kitchen – our parents, especially my mom, always finishes her social media posts with Ma Der. Wanted plan on invites the entire sort to our kitchen (home).
What are your inspirations for being in the food industry?
I’ve been in the industry my entire life. Most of my experience is in Japanese but I grew up eating Lao food and it was time for me to go back to my roots.
What were some of your challenges being a Lao business?
No one in Oklahoma knows Lao cuisine let alone where the country of Laos is. It’s a constant challenge but it’s my duty to educate.
What advice would you give to someone based on your experience?
Work hard, believe in what you’re doing, have passion, stay educated, and thinking out every detail of what you’re wanting to do.
